Las Vegas\u2019 Sphere is going country, and Kenny Chesney is going to be the man to take it there.<\/p>\n
The legendary country singer announced Thursday a 12-show residency at the venue to begin in May.<\/p>\n
That will mean that Chesney will be the first country artist to play the Sphere.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music,\u201d the 56-year-old said according to PEOPLE Magazine. <\/b><\/a>\u201cOver the years, they have shown me through their own response to these songs how passionate they are about what they mean, how these songs are part of their lives. When people give you that much heart, I want to give them even more.\u201d<\/p>\n Chesney said he was \u201call in\u201d when he started to learn about all of the possibilities that playing the venue would offer.<\/p>\n \u201cJust the idea of 4D technology and the impossibly dialed in sound raises the experience for No Shoes Nation, literally immersing them in music, visuals, sound and being together,\u201d he said. \u201cTo me this is going to be a whole new way of rocking the fans, and I can\u2019t wait.\u201d<\/p>\n Chesney said he has watched U2\u2032s show at the Sphere.<\/p>\n \u201cOnce you see how the show wraps all the way around you, the dreaming begins,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The Sphere seats 17,600 people.<\/p>\n Chesney\u2019s residency is slated to begin May 22 and will wrap up on June 14.<\/p>\n Chesney wrapped up his 2024 Sun Goes Down Tour in a major way back in August by playing three consecutive sold out nights at Gilette Stadium.He packed the house, performing in front of more than 180,000 people across the three-day finale.<\/p>\n You can read more about that tour and his big close to last year, here.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
