(FOX5) &#8211; Las Vegas police said a 73-year-old is in critical condition after a crash in the northwest valley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said the crash happened Wendesday around 3:47 p.m. near I-11 and Cheyenne Avenue. Two men drove eastbound on Cheyenne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For reasons not known yet to police, the 73-year-old sideswept a Mercedes Sprinter van. He would hit a traffic sign trailer at the start of a construction zone. He would drive over the sidewalk on the south side of Cheyenne and hit a cinder block property wall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said he was driving a 2013 Chrysler. He was transported to MountainView Hospital by ambulance and remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver of the Mercedes was a 44-year-old. He did not have any injuries, remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department\u2019s Collision Investigation Section,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\"><i>Copyright 2025 KVVU.
