After closing temporarily<\/a> in June, the poker room at Caesars Palace Las Vegas should reopen soon.<\/p>\n The previous venue near the sportsbook gave way for a new high-limit slot area, but recent reports indicate that a new room is in the works and would be opening in within the coming weeks.<\/p>\n Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas regional President Sean McBurney recently told the Las Vegas Review-Journal<\/em> that a new room would be unveiled in late spring<\/a> \u201cbefore the World Series of Poker<\/em> starts.\u201d<\/p>\n Caesars hosts the world\u2019s largest poker festival every year across the street from Caesars in the Horseshoe and Paris convention center. They previously owned the state\u2019s only online poker<\/a> operator, but sold WSOP<\/span><\/span>.com<\/a> last August.<\/p>\n Some Concerned Room Would Remain Shuttered<\/strong><\/p>\n The longer the room remained closed, some poker players expressed concerns that the room wouldn\u2019t actually come back. And their concerns weren\u2019t completely unfounded.<\/p>\n Several Las Vegas Strip casinos closed poker rooms since the widespread COVID<\/span><\/span>-induced shutdowns in 2020. Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, Excalibur, Harrah\u2019s, and Mirage closed its rooms for good.<\/p>\n Other poker rooms on the Strip, like Mandalay Bay, are no longer open 24\/7. Mandalay Bay\u2019s room operates Wednesday-Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 4 a.m.<\/p>\n Since 2012, there were 40 permanent poker room closures in Las Vegas. But recent indications from Caesars should calm those concerns.<\/p>\n Part Of Larger Renovation Projects<\/strong><\/p>\n The poker room reopening comes as the property has undergone other major renovation efforts over the last few years.<\/p>\n Caesars updated the main casino entrance, hotel lobby, casino dome, porte-cochere, the Flavian Sky Suites, and more. The property also opened a new bar, additional high-limit gaming areas, and Colosseum Tower (formerly the Forum Tower) with 440 new rooms and suites.<\/p>\n \u201cSomething that we\u2019ve learned over (the course of) six decades at Caesars Palace is that properties have to continue to reinvent themselves,\u201d McBurney told the LVRJ<\/span><\/span><\/em>. \u201cWe hadn\u2019t really touched the common spaces. So, we started this project of renovating the common spaces (at Caesars Palace) coming right out of COVID<\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n The additions come as Caesars has also been working on renovation projects at several other Strip properties.<\/p>\n Details on Caesars Palace\u2019s new poker room haven\u2019t officially been released. However, local Las Vegas blog Vegas Advantage<\/em> reported recently that an unnamed source claimed the new venue would open on May 16 and have eight tables.<\/p>\n The anonymous source also told the blog that it would be located in the Appian Way retail area near Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill.
