His instincts turned out to be correct.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Action<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the first day of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardplayer.com\/poker-tournaments\/11519-2025-triton-poker-super-high-roller-series-jeju\">the series<\/a>, in a $15,000 no-limit hold\u2019em event, the blinds were at 2,000-4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante.<\/p>\n<p>Wang raised to 8,500 from under the gun and 2022 <em>World Series of Poker<\/em> main event champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardplayer.com\/poker-players\/359747-espen-jorstad\">Espen Jorstad<\/a> three-bet to 29,000 from the button.<\/p>\n<p>Wang counted out a four-bet to 100,000 and the action shifted back to Jorstad, who quickly moved all in. Wang had 192,000 in chips remaining, having around put in more than a third of his stack. He took a glance at the tournament clock, and then mulled over his options.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this man folds pocket kings\u2026 I don\u2019t know how far we are from the ocean, but I\u2019m diving right into it,\u201d said commentor Ali Nejad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou just can\u2019t fold this, right?\u201d asked co-commentator Randy Lew.<\/p>\n<p>Despite less than a minute in the tank, Wang nonchalantly folded his two kings face up.<\/p>\n<p>His opponent indeed had pocket aces \u2013 proving that Wang had made a brilliant read.<\/p>\n<p>A stunned Jorstad couldn\u2019t believe his opponent was able to throw that hand away. Jorstad finished 27th for $41,000 while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardplayer.com\/poker-news\/29869-chinese-player-wins-record-setting-triton-poker-jeju-kickoff-tournament\">China\u2019s Zhao Hongjun went on to grab his first <em>Triton<\/em> win<\/a> for $818,000.<\/p>\n<p>Jorstad now has nearly $19 million in live tournament winnings. Along with winning the <em><span class=\"caps\"><span class=\"caps\">WSOP<\/span><\/span><\/em> main event in 2022, he also has a <em>Triton<\/em> title from the 2023 London series.<\/p>\n<p>Folding pocket kings preflop is no easy task. <em>Card Player<\/em> strategy columnist and two-time <em>World Poker Tour<\/em> champion Jonathan Little described his own experience and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardplayer.com\/poker-news\/24481-poker-strategy-with-jonathan-little-folding-pocket-kings-preflop-in-a-world-poker-tour-event\">process of folding pocket kings<\/a> at a <em><span class=\"caps\"><span class=\"caps\">WPT<\/span><\/span><\/em> event back in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I essentially never fold K-K preflop (because if you are folding K-K, you are folding everything), sometimes it makes sense,\u201d Little noted. \u201cWhen a play makes sense, do not be afraid to make it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2006, Canadian record producer Ren\u00e9 Ang\u00e9lil (also the husband and manager of singer Celine Dion) made a world-class laydown in the <em><span class=\"caps\"><span class=\"caps\">WSOP<\/span><\/span><\/em> main event. Angelil opened for a raise in early position and was three-bet by a player behind him. He quickly folded his kings face up.
