Update: Wednesday, March 18th:<\/strong><\/p>\n As of midnight last night, the Las Vegas Strip has gone dark. Casinos statewide began shutting down at midnight to follow Governor Steve Sisolak\u2019s 30 day mandatory closure for all non-essential businesses. I am told that the Strip and Fremont Street in downtown basically look like a ghost town. <\/strong><\/p>\n If you have plans or reservations to visit either the Strip or Downtown in the next 30 days, it is probably best to call your hotel now and reschedule. Since yesterday, Las Vegas hotels and casinos have been announcing their temporary closures due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n Here is a list of what is closing and shows and events that have been cancelled.<\/p>\n MGM Resorts is temporarily closing all its Las Vegas resorts effective beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th.<\/p>\n Wynn Resorts are temporarily closing beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 17th.<\/p>\n The Las Vegas Sands Corp. announced they will keep their resorts open. Update on 03\/18\/2020: the Sands Corp. has closed its resorts.<\/strong><\/p>\n Caesars Entertainment announced they were cancelling all ticketed live entertainment at their various venues. Update on 3\/18\/2020: All Caesars Entertainment resorts are closed.<\/strong><\/p>\n Penn and Teller at the Rio have gone dark. Update on 3\/18\/2020, the Rio resort is closed.<\/strong><\/p>\n David Copperfield has suspended his show.<\/p>\n The Fremont Street Experience is closing its live entertainment stages, effective immediately. Update on 3\/18\/2020: All hotels and casinos on Fremont Street are closed.<\/strong><\/p>\n The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show April 18-22 is cancelled.<\/p>\n The NFL Draft, set to take place on April 23-25 has cancelled all public events.<\/p>\n The Academy of Country Music Show has been cancelled.<\/p>\n All Cirque du Soliel shows have been halted.<\/p>\n The Discovery Children\u2019s Museum closed today, Monday, March 16th and will stay closed through April 11th.<\/p>\n The Mob Museum is temporarily closed.<\/p>\n The Las Vegas Springs is temporarily closed.<\/p>\n The Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas and six other state museums throughout the state are temporarily closed.<\/p>\n The Japanese Spring Festival at Sammy Davis Festival Plaza is cancelled.<\/p>\n Tacos and Tamalas Festival at Desert Breeze Park is cancelled.<\/p>\n All Las Vegas public schools are closed. All athletic events have been cancelled as has out-of -state and international travel.<\/p>\n Catholic schools have cancelled athletic and travel events.<\/p>\n The Meadows School is closing.<\/p>\n The Alexander Dawson School is closing.<\/p>\n UNLV is transitioning to on-line classes only.<\/p>\n
