LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police said an Arizona woman died in a crash south of Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
The crash happened Friday, Jan. 3 on US 95 at mile marker 35. This is about 15 miles north of Searchlight and 57 miles south of Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
Investigation shows that Dakota Ann Borders, 35, drove a 2005 Toyota Matrix northbound on US 95 approaching MM35. Police said the driver did not stay in the lane and drove into the dirt center median.<\/p>\n
Police said she tried to get back on the road but ended up on the right dirt shoulder and rotated clockwise.<\/p>\n
Borders was not wearing a seatbelt or any other restraint, police said. She was separated from the Toyota and died at the scene.<\/p>\n
The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit. <\/p>\n
