It has been two years since Jeremy Renner<\/a> was hit by and almost crushed by a seven-ton snowplow<\/a> at his compound near Reno, Nevada<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Mayor of Kingstown actor, 53, shared a photo from that time in his life on Instagram and wrote about the gratitude he has for everyone who fought so hard to save his life.<\/p>\n

‘Happy New Year blessings to you all\u2026. Ringing in my second “ReBirthday\u201d today,’ his caption began.<\/p>\n

‘I send out my love, respect, and gratitude for the army of people that it took to put me back together again. Thank you to each and every nurse, doctor, first responder\u2026 I literally owe you my life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘All my heart goes out to my beautiful, brave nephew and the angels (my neighbors) who jumped to my aid and endured the chaos for 45 long minutes on the icy asphalt New Years morning.’<\/p>\n

Renner’s emotion-filled post continued:\u00a0 ‘I\u2019m so sorry for all the haunting images I imprinted on you all (I\u2019ll spare you all from the meat grinding images )\u2026.’<\/p>\n

‘My gratitude list is very long \u2026. With the amount of love and prayers that flooded in from you all around the world (needing each and everyone of them), my family never leaving my side, with some divine intervention, a bit of luck and a whole lot of miracles \u2026 I stand strong again,’ he wrote.<\/p>\n

The Hurt Locker star’s love and gratitude shone through his words as he recounted the ways in which he’s rebuilt his life from that fateful New Year’s Day accident.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘More Open. More Loved. More Connected. And f***ing BLESSED to take my next step, to take MY NEXT BREATH. Thank you with every fiber and cell in my body. I love you ALL \u2764\ufe0f.’<\/p>\n

On January 1, 2023, Renner’s home near Reno had a blizzard and he and his nephew Alex Fries set out to plow the snow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His nephew was detaching the chain connecting the car to the plow, but Renner couldn\u2019t see him and became concerned for his safety.<\/p>\n

He grew worried that the plow would roll into Alex and in an effort to get back into the plow to set the emergency break, he was run over.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Renner was immobile and in critical condition as his nephew and neighbors stayed with him until paramedics arrived.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Renner’s injuries included a collapsed lung, lacerated liver and more than 30 broken bones from the blunt force trauma he took to his chest in the accident.<\/p>\n

He had to learn to walk again following the accident. In an interview with Diane Sawyer at the time he said, ‘I chose to survive.’<\/p>\n

He also said that he refused ‘to be f***ing haunted by that memory.’<\/p>\n

The snow plow that ran him over weighed 14,300 pounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘It undulates, because there\u2019s four sections of tires with these metal tracks \u2014 it pulls it like a tank. I remember every undulation, he told Men’s Health<\/a> last summer.<\/p>\n

‘I remember my head cracking on the thing and it just pressing on me \u2014 it\u2019s exactly like you think it would feel. An immovable object and a crushing force, and something\u2019s gotta give.’<\/p>\n

Jeremy did not spare any of the gruesome details but did express his gratitude as it could have somehow ended up worse than it actually had.<\/p>\n

He continued: ‘But thank God my skull didn\u2019t fully give. And then it kept going. Undulate, undulate, undulate, undulate.’<\/p>\n

‘Cheekbone broke, eye socket broke, and then from the crushing of getting run over by the machine, my eye bulged out. I could see my left eyeball with my right eyeball. I was screaming for a breath.’<\/p>\n

The star went into detail about how he tried as hard as he could to breathe but everything he did simply didn’t work.<\/p>\n

He said: ‘There was no breathing happening. It’s hard to use your stomach muscles when you have 14 broken ribs and a popped lung. I don\u2019t know this at the time \u2014 I just needed to get air. I was going through the checklist of my body, figuring it the f*** out.’<\/p>\n

Once the EMTs arrived, he gave his body over to them. Recovery was long and arduous but Renner had a remarkable perspective about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said: ‘The only thing we can control in our lives is our perspective.’<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
