On March 4, 2025, the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took a dangerous fugitive into custody.
Guillermo Verano-Cruz, a Mexican fugitive charged with aggravated sexual assault, was arrested today on Highway 50 in Nevada. He has a significant criminal history and has been previously deported three times.On Feb. 8, 2020, a warrant was issued in Mexico charging Guillermo Verano-Cruz with aggravated sexual assault. On Feb. 28, 2025, Mexican authorities requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and apprehending Guillermo Verano-Cruz, 46. Verano was also wanted for an active administrative deportation warrant held by ICE.
On March 4, 2025, the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force and ICE took Verano into custody without incident after his vehicle was observed on Highway 50 in Carson City, Nevada.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest. Verano was arrested for the Mexican foreign fugitive warrant.
Another individual in Verano’s vehicle was identified and determined to be in violation of U.S. immigration laws – they are now in ICE custody.
