Las Vegas (KSNV) — A Las Vegas organization helps with housing options in the valley and other resources for those displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires.
Jewish Nevada opened an emergency fund to assist individuals and families who chose to evacuate to Las Vegas. Resources provided include financial assistance, food, clothing, childcare, school, baby supplies and housing.
“There are a number of folks in our community who have been very generous, who have been putting up their houses, rental houses, apartments for the families who are evacuating,” Andrew Spivak, Director of Donor Engagement said. “It’s been a mix of folks who families who are planning on going back right away, as soon as they can, but we’ve also seen a lot of families who are making the decision to stay long term.”

The organization reports helping a few dozen families so far in Nevada with various needs.
“These families are coming, they’re coming very quickly, and literally with just the clothes on their back in some cases,” Spivak said.
Spivak said Jewish Nevada is ready to help everyone from the Los Angeles area who is in need after evacuating.
