I like holidays of all sorts, I don’t know if it has to do with the fun we had when I was young, but I always want to stop and enjoy the holiday in some way. That’s easy when it’s a major holiday, but some, like upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, come and go and I don’t have anywhere to celebrate. I know this is a throw away holiday for many who don’t have Irish history. I probably have a strain of the Irish in my DNA cocktail, but that’s not why I want to play on the green day.
If you are like me here is calendar of St Patty’s Day themed parties that you could help you feel like you celebrated properly just down the road in Las Vegas.
March 13-15: Shamrock Open Pickleball Tournament
Not horribly Irish, unless the game was invented there. I better check that quick. (search, search search) yeah it was invented in Washington State, but it will be green themed and hosted at The Lake Las Vegas Sports Club. Whether you’re a player or a spectator, enjoy the games, live music, and Irish cheer.
March 14-16: 57th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival & Parade
Not a fan of the strip? Historic Water Street in Henderson will transform into a carnival of Irish charm with rides, games, live entertainment, and a legendary parade on March 15.
March 15-17: Celtic Feis at New York-New York Hotel & Casino
The Strip goes green with bagpipe parades, live Celtic music, and traditional Irish fare. Don’t miss the Guinness mustard corned beef spring rolls. All the green and you don’t have to do any of the planning.
St. Patty’s Day Partier
March 16-19: Shamrock Bash at Fremont Street Experience
This is a four-day party featuring Celtic dancers, live bands, and even a firefighters’ parade. Fremont street can be a little rough if you don’t like crowds, but this should be a rousing party if you are up for it.
March 17: Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas Irish-German Fusion Celebration
If your inner German is offended by all of this Irish party talk you might enjoy this unique blend of Irish and German traditions with live music, hearty dishes, and premium drinks straight from Munich.

Hopefully that will help you as you ponder how to best celebrate the day with more than just a pinch for your co-worker who forgot to wear green.
