A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle fleeing from officers after they tried to stop it, according to Metro Police.
The incident happened about 7:30 a.m. today near East Charleston Boulevard and North Lamb Boulevard, police said.
The vehicle came to a stop after colliding with two other vehicles, and the driver was in custody, police said.
The pedestrian, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Traffic was shut down in all directions at the intersection, police said. People were advised to avoid the area.
