Las Vegas strike teams aid in Southern California wildfire battle

Two strike teams from the Las Vegas Valley have been deployed to Southern California to assist in combating the wildfires raging in the region.

The 21-person strike team assigned to the Eaton fire near Pasadena has been tasked with helping residents return to their neighborhoods to check on their property.

The team is also patrolling the area for spot fires and pumping water for hand crews working to cut a protective line through the vegetation and water down smoldering fuels.

Meanwhile, the 24-person strike team initially deployed to the Pacific Palisades fire has been reassigned to a neighborhood in Brentwood.

They are collaborating with firefighters from Riverside and Torrance, California, to provide structure protection in Mandeville Canyon.

In total, 45 personnel from the Las Vegas Valley fire departments, including the Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, and Henderson Fire Department, are providing support and resources in the firefighting efforts.
