Antonio Pierce's time with the Las Vegas Raiders has reached its end as the team have reportedly fired him as head coach

The Las Vegas Raiders fired interim head coach Antonio Pierce after one season as the team’s full-time head coach. Pierce had a 5-4 record as the team’s interim head coach in 2023, following Josh McDaniels’ departure. The Raiders join the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and New York Jets as ships searching for a new captain. We could still see one or two more, but so far, these are the available openings in 2025.

Raiders have fired interim head coach Antonio Pierce after one season as the team’s full-time head coach

The Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly fired Antonio Pierce as head coach. “We appreciate Antonio’s leadership, first as an interim head coach and this past season as the head coach. Antonio grew up a Raiders fan and his Silver and Black roots run deep. We are grateful for his ability to reignite what it means to be a Raider throughout the entire organization. We wish nothing but the best for Antonio and his family in the future,” the team said in a statement.
Pierce was an interim head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders for one season, which was 2023. The team placed last in the AFC West with a 4-13 record. The Raiders went on a 10-game losing streak from October 6 to December 22, which removed them from consideration for the No. 1 pick in the draft. The Raiders will instead select at No. 6 in the 2025 draft.
On Monday, Pierce stated that he had not been informed of any changes in his status as head coach, which appears to have changed since Tuesday. “I haven’t been told anything different,” Pierce said. “It’s only coming from the outside. It’s not inside the building. To me there’s nothing to clean up until I hear from inside the building.”
The Raiders are looking for a new head coach, their sixth hire in this cycle, and minority owner Tom Brady is likely to be a key player in the process, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. Las Vegas looks to win its first playoff game since 2002, failing to make the postseason three straight years and making only two appearances since losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII.
While that NFL Silver and Black coach of Las Vegas-replacing Antonio Pierce-is expected to highlight the historic past of a franchise during this introductory press, the Las Vegas Raiders are apparently searching for at least a number-three quarterback prospect-considering all their current appalling performances on offense.

They are a team ranked 27th in the total offense, rushing, and scoring. They also possess a great tight end in Brock Bowers and a 1,000-yard wideout, but they have to significantly improve their offensive line. According to Pro Football Network, that offensive line ranked outside of the top 20 last year.
